If you own property here, the most dangerous elected Burbank office to ignore is the one nobody watches: the Board of Education.
Your school board drives the bonds and parcel taxes that land straight on your property tax bill. They tax the roof over your head — while almost no one is watching.
And don’t assume someone who shares your values is already stepping up. Two seats are on this year’s ballot, and the school board is one of the least-watched offices in Burbank. No wonder property taxes keep going up here! If you don’t step up, it goes to whoever does — and they’ll spend your money.
